Varnishing salon area for new upholstery - cleaning and prepping part 1 0f 3 - 2018

This was more work than it looks like. I could have broken it up into a couple parts.
We do have a time crunch though. Currently house sitting in Bucerias, PuertoVallarta, Mexico and we want to finish this while we are not living on the boat.

Middle of April 2018 - Currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico

 Before pictures.

Our teak wood in front of the salon cushions as it looked before we started. The wood does not look as bad as it actually does in the pictures. It is 40 years old and has 3M4000 UV Marine Adhesive  in the wood at places. Under the salon is where we keep our varnishing supplies, paint and 3M4000 UV Marine Adhesive  along with other similar supplies. At times with me not being neat, let some 3M 4000 UV Marine Adhesive get on this and it is hard to get out of the grain of the wood.
You can not see the 3M4000 UV Marine Adhesive unless you get up close and then with the head lamp on it shows up better. Then with varnish on it shows up a lot. So I needed to get it out. At least as much as possible.
OK lets get started😩

Debbie taped off some areas and we got started.
Debbie cut up some watermelon for us as a snack
to sustain us while we worked!.

Scrub-a-dub-dub.
We removed the salon table so the area was easier to get at.
The head lamp really helps with seeing all the little areas to clean and or varnish.
Drying out with the fan after one last go over
and getting ready for the first coat of varnish.
