When is a battery box top not one - when it is a Beta engine gauge backing - 2017

We took our old group 27 battery box cover and re-purposed it.
We have, for a long time, been wanting to cover the back of the Barra Marina engine gauges in the lazarett. We used our canvas punch to make a couple holes in it. This gauge housing is original to the boat and used to house the Perkins 4-108 gauges.

Beginning of May 2017 - Tied up in Marina Mazatlán, Mexico
We glued a tab onto the back of the Beta engine gauge housing.
We used a wire tie to attach the battery cover to the tab and wala it is done! Maybe at a later time we will add another tab for the bottom part of the cover. It is working great now though.
There it is working great to protect the back side of the Beta engine gauges which has a lot of wiring and plugs etc.
Debbie down in the lazerett before the cover was installed.
